Louisville Director Mark E. Poole to Speak at Fright Night Film Fest

Director Mark E. Poole, the creative force behind the award-winning zombie/comedy DEAD MOON RISING (DMR1) will be speaking at the 2008 Fright Night Film Fest in Louisville, KY on Sunday August 17, 2008 at 3:00 PM.  He will share his experience with writing, shooting and editing DMR1, as well as securing nationwide distribution with his very first film.  Within a month of its release, DMR1 was named Fangoria Magazine's Video of the Month.  In the article, Fangoria stated that, "All this is much cleverer than you expect, with Poole maintaining a perfect balance of humor & horror…witty, wild and wonderfully ingenious, DEAD MOON RISING takes home-grown filmmaking to outlandish heights."

He will also speak about his latest project, DEAD MOON RISING 2 (DMR2), the episodic series.  He is shooting this on HD cameras with another large & talented ensemble cast.  Poole says, "There's never been a more handsome group of zombie slayers, ever."  DMR2 will be shot in and around Louisville, Kentucky, but will be bigger, bolder, and dig deeper into each of the main character's back stories.

Poole will show the never-before seen trailer and the first real episodes for DMR2 at Fright Night.

He will also detail everything it takes to be an independent filmmaker, and the 3 things he'll NEVER do again.

One thing he will do is recreate another massive ZOMBIE crowd scene, which will be coupled with a Halloween Ball at City Block, Louisville.  Poole plans to stage a life-sized helicopter crash at that event.  "We'll have people trying to escape, only to find they are surrounded by thousands of zombies.  It's every man for himself, and the zombies grab those trying to hold onto the skids.  Mayhem ensues."  The event is limited to the first 3000 zombies to sign up.
